PARTY ANYONE?

Alright ladies, I am long overdue for hosting a home demonstration.

I'm long overdue for hosting anything.  My dreaded home repairs are not nearly done, I'm in the middle of a thousand projects, the dogs are crazy, I'm crazy but I've had the same note in my iphone for a year now - have a party.  It's this sad little item on this ridiculously long list of things to get done - get dogs to vet, get quotes for fence installation, plant organic veggie garden, paint playroom for Scarlette, remember to shower, get book published, accomplish something meaningful - you get the idea.  Somewhere in the mess of groceries, chores and life goals, there sat this little note - have a party.  

Well, it's been bumped up on the list ladies.

This autumn, I will be hosting and demonstrating what I believe is the first ever Etsy Home Party.  

What is that?  Well, there's lots of details in the WHAT, WHY and HOW over there to the right with lots more details to come but here's the idea.  

Etsy is an online shopping site chock full of handmade goods from around the world.  Don't panic, it's not all tea cozies and sequin headbands.  It's actually a great place for artists and craftsman to sell their work.  One of the greatest elements of Etsy is the community of sellers and buyers and the use of what is called a Treasury.  A Treasury is a collection of items picked out by regular registered users and posted on the site.  They are handpicked items with a theme, an idea, a purpose.  Every hour on the hour, Etsy posts one of the hottest Treasuries to be on the front page of the site which drives an enormous amount of traffic to those items which makes having one of your items on a Treasury a pretty big deal.

The party will be based on this.  There will be collection of Treasuries designed by me with a theme in mind.  Items from those Treasuries will be on hand at the party and you will have a chance to buy those items directly from me and take them home that night.  You will also have the opportunity to order through me additional items from the Treasuries just like at any other home demonstration.  There will be food, drinks and games as well.
